Tas, also known as DJ-Tas, is a veteran of the music scene, with roots tracing back to the early 1990s when he was introduced to the electrifying sound of jungle music. Captivated by the fusion of reggae vibes with hardcore beats, he found himself immersed in a surreal auditory experience. Witnessing the emergence of a new genre, EDM's Drum & Bass, ignited a passion within him that would shape his musical journey.
Despite financial constraints, DJ Tas was determined to master the art of DJing. Learning from friends and seizing every opportunity to practice, he saved up diligently and invested in his first set of decks in 1994, albeit belt drive models. Recognizing the importance of direct drive decks for precision and power, he upgraded to the legendary Technics 1210's mk3 in 1996, experiencing a significant transformation in his mixing capabilities.
With skill and dedication, DJ Tas became a pivotal figure in the music scene, collaborating with friends and forming Dark-Side Promotions—a dynamic collective comprising dancers, MCs, DJs, and producers. Their electrifying performances captivated audiences across various venues, leaving a lasting impression on the underground music scene.
Despite the eventual hiatus due to work and college commitments, DJ Tas's passion for music endured. As a hobbyist, he continues to share his love for music as a Fitness DJ, entertaining crowds at various locations across the UK with Fight Klub, a renowned fitness group. Additionally, DJ Tas showcases his eclectic taste and expertise on various radio shows each week, reaching audiences far and wide.
